The Wren's Nest

The Wren's Nest, Atlanta's oldest house museum, is the home of Joel Chandler Harris, author and publisher of the Uncle Remus tales. The museum offers guided tours of the home that include portions reflecting life there in 1908.

Brer Rabbit stories originated in Africa and were told by Slaves on Southern plantations in the United States. Harris published the stories in the dialect of the Slaves who told the stores. Each Saturday, Nest Rambler recant these stories to The Wren's Nest visitors. More info...
